Katy Perry's song "Teenage Dream" was released on July 23, 2010.





 
Katy Perry then did a promotional photo shoot for her second album "Teenage Dream," a month before being released. The pictures released were a little on the suggestive side.

In detail, Katy Perry is kneeling on the beach in front of a man that is facing her, which sounds fine but the man's only wearing a Speedo and the look on Katy's face says a little more then "Hello". 

Musically, "Teenage Dream" is a mid-tempo pop song with a retro sound. It is styled in the genres of power pop and electropop, while influenced by other genres such as disco, pop rock, and industrial music. Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" has been certified four times platinum in the United States, as well as receiving platinum and multi-platinum certifications in other countries.

Perry also described the song as reminiscent of her youth while thinking of her future marriage to boyfriend (and ex husband now) Russell Brand.


Katy Perry revealed to MTV: "It’s a summer record. We nailed it. It’s roller-skating! It’s Ace Of Base! It’s Cyndi Lauper! It’s like all these colors and more. It’s going to be one of those records that is everybody’s favorite guilty pleasure."
